Cancellation Fees & Payments
Reservations may only be cancelled or changed free of charge up to the date indicated on your booking confirmation. Once the reservation has passed the free cancellation deadline, the full amount of the booking will be charged if you choose to cancel.
We no longer accept Covid-19 as a reason to waive any cancellation fees incurred and it is your responsibility to ensure you have the appropriate travel insurance in place to cover these costs should you need to cancel or change your reservation due to illness.
Payment is due in full at check in, however, we reserve the right to take the payment in full once the free cancellation deadline has passed.
The latest check in time is 20:30, if you do not arrive by this time, we will consider you as a no show and your entire reservation will be deemed cancelled. If you require a check in after 20:30, you must contact us in advance to mutually agree a suitable time which can be no later than 22:30.
Our minimum child age is 4, and the maximum child age is 13. Children aged 14 and over are considered adults when staying at The Headlands Hotel.
Noise, Groups & Additional Charges:
We are a quiet hotel after 23:00, please respect other guests if coming back later and keep all noise including TV volumes down to an absolute minimum.
We take a zero tolerance approach to any anti-social behaviour towards ourselves, our staff, our property and other guests. We will not hesitate to call the police to come and remove you from the hotel if you behave in an anti-social way and action will be taken against you.
Our standard excess room cleaning charge is £150 plus the cost of any damages. These costs will be charged directly to your debit or credit card and action will be taken against you to recover any such costs and further losses we incur as a direct result of your behaviour.
Our standard charge to replace a lost room key is £75.
Group bookings must be approved by the hotel owner in advance, and the lead booker will be contacted to discuss the nature of the booking. We reserve the right to refuse any group booking without explanation if we feel there is a risk to other guests comfort. Any group that books separately in such a way to hide the group may be refused entry to the hotel or asked to leave the property without refund. Group bookings may be subject to a deposit and less flexible cancellation policies which will be confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
